Avon NGV Repairs -  Extended Service Life

The Avon NGV life is typically limited by distortion, or “bowing” of the airfoil trailing edges which can occur after some 30-50,000 hours of service.  Liburdi’s advanced repair now allows these parts to be returned to service after full dimensional restoration of the airfoils and rejuvenation heat treatments to restore the alloy strength.  The Liburdi restoration process, including FSR^®Rejuvenation for Avon NGVs is authorized by Rolls-Royce.

Avon Blade Repair (Rejuvenation) vs Conventional Repair

Conventional blade repairs incorporate re-coating and weld/machining of the shrouds only.  The Advanced Repair also includes a unique FSR^®Rejuvenation process which restores the alloy strength and the blade set to a “zero hour” condition to enable the parts to be treated as new for future service. The Advanced Repairs are Authorized by Rolls-Royce.   

The Advanced Repairs apply to all Avon Blades and NGV sets – HPT, IPT, LPT, and all Avon models 1533, 1534, and 1535.
