Mission Statement: To
develop high performance, cost effective products and
provide support and consulting services for customer production
needs through cybernetic analytical and design techniques
utilizing computer-aided engineering design and manufacturing
tools.

History: Applied
Cybernetics was founded in 1994 based upon the experiences
gained in starting and developing System Technika Inc. (later
ST International) in 1980 and developing the Viper Series
of Weldheads for Hobart Brothers in 1991/92. Applied Cybernetics
developed the micro weldhead (AC-750) in 1996 and the mini-micro
weldhead (AC-500) in 2001. They are both currently being
produced and marketed by Applied Cybernetics. The Orbimat
series of high production large diameter closed-chamber
weldheads was developed under the direction and technical
managmentof Orbimatic GmbH in 1997/98 and the TP Series
of open-arc weldheads was developed in 2001/03. Both of
these series are now produced and marketed worldwide by
Orbimatic GmbH, and are being imported for sale in the USA
by Applied Cybernetics. The large diameter AC-Series of
Weldheads (AC-2000, AC-4000) were designed and developed
in 2005/07 together with a series of coolers, dual weldhead
adapters, interface modules, embedded processor based controllers
linking the above weldheads to a multitude of commercially
available orbital welding power sources. Over the course
of time several patents have been issued in the orbital
welding field.

Capabilities: Applied
Cybernetics utilizes the latest tools in cybernetic analyses
and design. These include the AutoDesk Inventor series
of products. Analytical tools such as MSC Working Model
for 3D dynamic interaction of mechanisms are also utilized.
Capabilities for finite element analyses (FEA) and thermal
analyses are also provided. Manufacturing of parts and
components is performed through vendors utilizing high
speed CNC manufacturing techniques receiving 3D model
data of machined parts through ACIS, DXF, and IGES files.
Applied Cybernetics produces its own circuit board design
and manufacturing files using Altium Designer for special
application circuit boards and for single board computers
ranging in applications from gas management systems to
industrial automation and welding systems. Assembly and
final test/checkout of product are accomplished at company
manufacturing facility and at its electronics and welding
laboratories.
